On the right side pane you can find any strange entry like malaugh.exe, msblast.exe, enbiei.exe, tftip.exe. Remove these entries and you will disable these worms from running at Startup.
Then after Click Start and navigate through Programs-> Accessories->System tools-> System Restore->System Restore Settings. Now check the box that says “Turn off System Restore on all drives and select apply and then Ok. Delete the previous system restores by clicking on Start and navigate through Accessories->system tools->Disk Clean up->More options->System Restore->select clean up->OK
Overheating
Another reason for shutting down may be due to overheating. If the fan inside the CPU or laptop fails to cool the machine then it may result in shut down of your system. You can resolve this problem by placing a desk fan near the CPU that will keep the machine cool. Put your laptop on a flat and smooth surface to provide proper ventilation for the fans. If you find problem in fan then consult a computer technician to help you come out of the problem.
Windows
Windows operating system may be the other reason behind computer being shutting down. This happens when Windows is not able to find settings which it needs to function. Windows read hundred of settings in the Windows Registry database while working on the machine.
You should right click on Start->Control panel->System->Advance. Then in Start up and Recovery you should click on Settings and open Startup and recovery window. Then you need to go to System failure and uncheck the box that says Automatically Restart. Click on Apply and then OK.
Once you do this your computer will stop being shutting down whenever there is an error encountered by Windows. You will find blue screen whenever there is any error encountered in the computer. This is known as “Blue screen of death”. You will get a STOP message that requires the user to manually turn off power and restart your PC. This give you an idea the shutdown is due to a problem encountered in Windows.
Corrupt or damaged settings may be the reason for shut down by operating system. You can resolve this problem by using a Registry Cleaner that scan the registry database.
